Hi Lauren
I am a recovery anorexic and over eater (XX to XX kgs) over a span of 10 to 13 years before coming into OA. i have kept going back to Oa for over 10 years since 2002, but have been working on physical recovery for the last couple of years. I have gained X kgs last year with the guidance of a dietician, but still am underweight. I eat good size meals, 3 main meals and two snacks. I am vegetarian with the occasional chicken meal when I feel I need it. I am still learning to trust myself with my hunger as I have gone to the extreme with eating although it was over 10 years. I also fear being even slightly overweight, so make changes very very cautiously. Do you have any suggestions with my food? I prefer another person’s opinion who has dealt with a personal experience of eating disorder.
Breakfast
Two handfuls of natural muesli – no dried fruit
1 med banana soya milk 4 dessert spoons Natural yoghurt
Lunch
1 pita pocket med
2 falafel patties
Slice of cheese ( don’t have this much)
Salad
Fruit
Snack
2 rivita crackers
1 heaped tsp p/butter
Dinner
3 to 4 pieces of tofu and teriyaki chicken sushi
Salad
1 tbsp balsamic vinegerrete
Snack
1 lg apple
I will drink water1 to 2 c /tea with hot water and. soya/ 1 herbal tea/ 1 cacoa with hot water and soya added through the day.
This is a typical day with difference in protein and carbs, but breaky is the same. As you can see it is succifient, so I am baffled by my very slow progress over a year. I do yoga 2 to 3 times a week and walk 45 mins 3 x a week. Can you help me see where I am going wrong?
Desperately seeking suggestions.
Kim
Ps. I don’t count calories but am mindful of the fat content in my food. I also am challenging my rules around food, so have come along way, but my physical recovery has been a long time concern. Willing, but fearful.
Thanks for any suggestions, Kim.
